Halloween Favorites

Halloween 2007 has come and gone, so I thought I'd reminisce about our fantastic day by sharing my favorite moments...

  • AM Aerobics to techno versions of "Thriller" and the theme song from "The Addams Family"

  • Eating Count Chocula with the boys in the morning

  • Vampire teeth

  • Participating in a 1st Grade Halloween party with kids almost as cute as Thomas

  • Being reminded that Thomas really does have the sweetest teacher ever

  • Dressing up as Pippi Longstocking for the party at work

  • Receiving compliment after compliment on our two cute boys-- particularly on Tom's creative Pac-Man costume

  • Making declicious homemade chili (Marilyn's recipe + onions) and cinnamon sugar scones

  • Trick-or-treating around a block lined with mature maple trees, so we could smell the sweet autumn decay and hear the crispy swish of leaves beneath our feet as we walked

  • Knowing that my sons are still too young to consider that the longer they knock on doors, the more candy they'll get-- instead, they were both satisfied with a walk around one city block and their little buckets only half full

  • Two sweet boys who were willing to share a piece of candy with their mom

  • Temperatures in the mid-50's and clear-- perfect fall weather

  • Attending a great Halloween party full of fun people, darling costumes, and, believe it or not, healthy food! It was a relief after all of the junk!

  • Halloween games where everyone walks away with a prize!

  • The boys falling asleep in the car on the way home from the party

  • Me falling asleep to the sound of Jack Skellington in The Nightmare Before Christmas (a Halloween tradition)

Thank you so much for that! Now I feel like I experienced Halloween with the boys! And what a cute Pippi you make!! (What was Chris's costume?)

You are the cutest Pippi I have ever seen. (I dressed up like her one year; I wasn't nearly as cute!) Looks like you all made the best of every minute. What a great day!

I can't get over that last picture of Gordon! He has got to be the cutest kid on Earth! Here's a question.. in one of the pictures from your party it looks like my friend Diane is in the background. Do you know who I'm talking about?

What a great day! Sounds like you have a lot of great traditions for the boys, that makes the day extra special!

PS-- how do you make a little heart in your comment box?? Can you share? ;)

Sounds like to took advantage of Halloween! We had a fun snack of toes in a bandaid (lil smokies in dough) and I think you taught me that.

It was the best Halloween weather, wasn't it?! We are in Boise and it was the same here-absolutely perfect! Halloween is so much fun and kids just love it. Great entry-they all are, really!

Thanks for all the pictures! We didn't have quite as much fun as you did on Halloween, but we did get 34 trick-or-treaters! Cute costume (Pippi)--Okay, I'm going to start getting ready for NEXT year!

What a fun day you all had! I can't get over how cool the pac man costume is. Bob the builder and pippi are also very good.
