Last week, my book club reviewed
Reading Lolita in Tehran, by Azar Nafisi. What an incredible perspective on the lives of women in post-revolutionary Iran! This book is can be quite heavy in parts, but is well worth the more difficult chapters. As a group, the club agreed that reading this memoir definitely helped us understand some of the things that go on in that part of the world. A great read-- I highly recommend it!

Oh, I have been looking for a good read. I'll have to check this out.
Thanks for inspiring the entire Hansen family to blog! I look forward to new postings from you everyday and the girls love them, too! My favorites are the pictures, of course, but I love the stories and videos of the boys, too! Talk to you soon...
I'm impressed you were able to enjoy the book. I wasn't able to finish it, no one in my book club did. We aren't intellectuals... The group's favorite book so far was Shell Seakers, a real soap opera type book. But I agree that it offers a good view of what life was like for women there. I highly recommend the Kite Runners.
