On Saturday, we decided to do a little "sprucing" on the exterior of our house. We've been talking about adding some shutters and painting the door for a while, and we are absolutely thrilled with the way the small changes make such a difference. Check it out...
BEFORE: The home of Mr. and Mrs. Blandy McBlanderson...
And AFTER: Cute as a charming little button!
I am in LOVE with the red door. I know that color is a little cliched these days, but it just goes so well with the house that I couldn't care less. Adorable, isn't it? The best part about these little changes: we spent less than $50!
Also on the home front, we found a little jungle explorer cleverly posted between the chocolate milk and the celery in the fridge the other night. We're still not sure who placed him there, but it did give Chris a good laugh when he was grabbing a late night snack!

That's awesome. I think you have to leave that guy in there!
LOVE THE RED DOOR!!! Our HOA won't let us change the door color, because it matches the shudder colors, and the different colors are evenly spaced throughout the 'hood! When are you guys going to visit AZ?
Your house is adorable. I want to paint my brown gone horribly wrong bedroom wall red, but I'm not sure Brad is on board yet. Oh well, he is leaving for two weeks. Ha Ha! Maybe I'll get that wall after all. Now, if I could just get the entire elders quorum over here to move my 1000 lb. bed for me....
You guys are professsionals, the house looks great and I'm loving the red door, too!
$50!? that is awesome. and it really does brighten up your adorable home. nice work!
that little guy in the fridge is hillarious!
I LOVE the the red door! We had a red door on our old house and I really miss it. Nice work on the shutters too.
this inspires me to really get going on painting the rest of my blah white walls. i love your visitor in the fridge!
That looks really good! I love the door.
Less than $50? Do you have cousins with lots of sweet hookups or something?
And I do so love a red door . . .
I loved your house from the beginning and never thought it lacked charm, but the shutters and the red door and the planters all look so cute! I remember back when you gave the video tour of the inside after you had done some painting (the boys' room in particular) and it was so fun to see the changes. I'm excited to visit you all when we come in August and see your house again!
What a difference--I especially like the shutters. I'm definitely going to invest in some.
