Davey is THREEEEEE!

Hooray! My cute nephew, David Myers, turns a whopping three years old today! Happy Birthday, Davey! Aside from being the most adorable brown-eyed boy ever, I have to say that one of my favorite things about David is that he is a little stinker. I love that his antics sometimes divert the attention away from Gordon's monstrosities! Really, though, David is a sweet boy and we just love it when we get to see him.

Have a great birthday, David! We can't wait to see you soon!

Tom's Valentines

I saw this adorable Valentine idea while blog-browsing, and I just had to copy. I love the idea of a more personalized Valentine, rather than the annoying selection of cartoon characters at the grocery store. Of course, I had to "make it my own", as the American Idol judges say, and I came up with this:

(Paper and elements from the Grab Bag by Andrea Burns)

I ordered prints from Snapfish at only 9¢ each, plus shipping. I think the price equals about the same as the store-bought Valentines.

Looks like Superman is on his own this year!

All Geared Up

Well, after all of this crazy snow (a foot more last night and more on the way), I finally broke down and decided that I needed to purchase some snow boots. Up to this point, I have been walking around the icy streets of Logan in not-so-great-for-winter shoes and I don't think I can stand another second of wet socks. The funny thing about deciding the first of February (!) that you need winter boots is that you are way behind the retail mindset. Winter boots are available in August-- right now, all of the stores are clearing out their winter gear to make way for the swim season. I went to three stores today and while they all had a few pairs of snow boots left, none were in my apparently high-demand size of 6.5. So, off to Lands End.com, where I found these beauts (only in black) for $34.99. You can't beat that. I'll have to wait a week or so to get them, but I don't think Mother Nature is letting up any time soon. Our seven day forcast calls for snow, snow, and more snow.

Sara Bareilles

I love her.

Happy, happy birthday, Andy!

Happy Birthday today to my brother-in-law, Andy Hansen! Andy is a genius and a very hard worker-- two qualities I've always admired in him. He married the sweetest girl in the world and he's a great dad to their two adorable kids. Since he is going to medical school in Wisconsin, we don't get to see him as often as we'd like. He and Chris keep in pretty good touch, though-- the phone call frequency usually increases during Utah sporting events! Andy has awesome taste in music-- he probably doesn't know this, but I love getting the CDs he sends to Chris. I know I'll end up loving whatever eclectic mix he puts together. We can't wait to see Andy again... sometime? Not soon enough!

Happy 28th to an awesome guy-- we love you Andy!
